“Tragedy Base Ball Nine” cabinet photograph c.1880s. Sepia toned photo showing a oddly dressed team whom took part in what must have been an exhibition game. As identified on the “Hill Bros” marked mount, the “Tragedy vs. Comedy” game took place at the Polo Grounds in May of either 1886 or 1888 (year not readable). Trimmed to approx. 9″x9.5″ with scattered wear and chipping to corners/edges. Later period “Culver” stamp appears on the back along with some other markings: GD
